How does gum disease affect your life?
How do you want to look like at the age of 60? Do you like to smile most of the time? Do you like to pose for picture and post it on social networking sites? Your smile is one of the most beautiful gifts you can share to the world. Did you know the world looks brighter when you smile? With your bright smile showing your pearly white teeth will somehow inspire people to work, to move on with their lives despite the burden they are carrying. The question is how will you be able to share that precious smile if you are experiencing gum disease?
Gum disease is barely noticeable at first. It progresses in your mouth without your knowledge. It waits until such time when your gums become sensitive to hot and cold food or liquid. You will experience bad breath. This may be traumatic encounter on your part. Your friends will slowly leave you because they can’t bear being with you. This is mainly because they can no longer stand the smell of your breath.
Receding gums is one of the major symptoms of gum disease. You will notice that the roots of your teeth are now expose or visible when you smile. The affected teeth look bigger than before. If untreated, there is a possibility that you will lose your teeth. Losing your teeth is not a very nice pleasing experience as an adult, more as a teenager.
This might be new to you, but gum disease can cause you to lose your teeth. This will only happen if you do not treat this gum problem at its earlier stage. When you forget or ignore to brush your teeth regularly, plaque will soon accumulate which may lead to gum problems. Losing your teeth because of gum disease can be a traumatic experience.
They say gum disease will only occur when you are an adult. But this is not true. This can happen to anyone at any given age. Therefore, if you love to take pictures and post it on social networking sites it would be best if you take good care of your teeth as early as now. Imagine, how you will smile on a camera if you know that you have no front teeth? How will you eat or drink your favorite flavored ice cream or soda if your teeth hurt when you try eating it?
Think and act now while you still have time. Save your teeth and gums.
